In this episode Joy tells us the story of Lucy Stone, considered the “Morningstar” of the Women’s Rights movement. She was born on a farm and resented her work from the jump. She went on to make it her “life’s mission” to ensure that all women were discontent with their work.

She worked alongside other key players in the movement like Susan B. Anthony, and traveled the country with her husband (whose name she wouldn’t take) in order to speak on women’s rights issues. She was strongly against slavery, typical marital roles, the Bible, and contentment.
