One of our duties as Christians is to be ambassadors for Christ. Ambassadors do not speak poorly about who they represent! They represent well. Just as the heavens declare the glory of God, so too must we declare with our mouths who God is and what He has done, and we should seek to do it well.
Today we want to contend that declaring well who God is requires that we speak clearly, boldly, and without qualification. One cannot speak clearly and boldly if they are busy adding shaded meaning, and shaded meaning is exactly what nuance is. Are issues facing us today often nuanced? Sure. However, a great litmus test to apply to your own speech and the speech of others is to consider how often nuance is employed. Can you speak a hard truth without adding to it? How many pillows do you want to arrange around your listeners, just in case a stiff wind of plain truth blows them over? Let’s chat.
