What Do You Want?
This week we talk motivation, discipline, and ambition. There’s this thing you think you want to do – how do you get it done? Is it possible to change your desires through habits? Join us!
Misunderstanding God’s Presence, Essential Oils, & How to Love God By Eating Twinkies
Someone presented an interesting question to Joy: Can God be in the presence of sin? So we dive into what that particular question is in reference to, what we know about God's holiness, omnipresence, omniscience, and Summer talks tabernacle things. Then we answer an adorable voicemail with a question about essential oils, and we follow up on some concerns about our episode on food with Douglas Wilson.
Smash the Patriarchy: How Men Helped Create Feminism & What To Do About it
This week we want to get real with you about the Patriarchy. It's out there, and you can fight it, but are you even sure what you're fighting for? If the Bible says women must obey their husbands, and their husband is abusive, where does that leave women? Are we willing to admit that the first wave of feminists were responding to large-scale abuses by men? The answer is yes, and we are about to explain why!
Women Behind the Pulpit: What Does the Bible Say?
We do not believe that women can be pastors because Scripture tells us as much. But let's be honest, a lot of us hold to this view "because Scripture says so." Scripture saying so is the number reason to do or not to do something. While we believe that wholeheartedly, in the very gender-confused and feminist-saturated culture we live in, it is not enough to know what you believe—you must also know why you believe it. So that is why this week, we are taking a very short amount of time to explain the why's, and answer some common objections.
Almost: an addendum since releasing this episode
Because of multiple requests, pleas, and somewhat pushy demands (it’s okay, I liked your moxie), Joy and I decided we would answer the question: “What do y’all think of the IF: Gathering?” In this follow-up article, we address concerns that have been brought up since that recording.
Confessions of the Food Catholic
Coming to the table of the Lord in peace with one another is a huge deal, and our bodies are supposed to be spent in service to the Lord. How do we balance all of these things? Pastor Doug Wilson shares some edifying Biblical wisdom on how not to be stuck in bondage to your next meal.
Jesus and Politics with Allie Stuckey
The Conservative Millennial, Allie Stuckey, is a force to be reckoned with. We did not know what we were going to get when we asked her to come on the show, but we were just blown away. Normally we get to hear her on FOX, NBC, or MSNBC in short bits and pieces giving her [extremely accurate, punchy, and beneficial] ten cents on what's going on in the political world. Today we get to hear why she believes it is important that Christians are able to articulate their faith, understand politics and culture, and be engaged in the current political climate. We also get to find out how many cats is too many cats and why Summer's dad has a cat waterfall.
